Vibrant Doors Joins Community Effort to Open New Derby Charity Hub for Vulnerable Children
TelAve News/10886362
Vibrant Doors proud to support the opening of new Safe & Sound charity hub in Derby, offering vital services to children affected by exploitation.
DERBY, U.K. - TelAve -- A new charity hub has officially opened in Derby city centre, creating a welcoming and safe space where children, young people and their families can access vital support services.
Led by local charity Safe & Sound, the hub has been developed to bring multiple strands of support together under one roof, making it easier for vulnerable young people and families to access help, guidance and reassurance when they need it.
The project began in January 2025, following months of planning, collaboration and refurbishment. In December 2025, the doors officially opened to service users, marking a significant milestone for both the charity and the wider Derby community.
Creating a Central Safe Space
Safe & Sound works tirelessly to support children and young people affected by exploitation and abuse, offering specialist services focused on safety, recovery and long-term wellbeing.

The new hub, Melbourne House on Bold Lane, provides an accessible, central base where this work can continue and grow, offering a calm and supportive environment designed around the needs of those who use it.
Tracy Harrison, CEO of Safe & Sound, said: "This new hub is about creating a place where children, young people and families feel safe, supported and listened to. Having a dedicated space in the city centre allows us to reach more people and remove barriers to support.
The support we've received from local businesses has been incredible. Projects like this simply wouldn't be possible without organisations who understand the importance of community."
One of those local organisations is Vibrant Doors, a Derby-based door specialist who supported the project during the refurbishment by supplying door and window solutions. The company worked closely with the project team to ensure the building was practical, secure and welcoming.
John Shaw, Managing Director of Vibrant Doors (https://www.vibrantdoors.co.uk), said: "We're delighted to see the charity hub open its doors to the people who need it most. From the moment this project began, there was a real sense of compassion and shared purpose.
