You Can't Buy Your Way To A Growth Strategy

TelAve News/10904796
TEMPE, Ariz. - TelAve -- More Tools. More Technology. More Marketing. But Is The Organization Actually Growing? "NO"!

Businesses have more growth tools available to them than ever before.

Marketing platforms.

Analytics.

Automation.

Artificial intelligence.

Advertising.

Content systems.

Customer relationship platforms.

The list continues to grow.

But access to more resources doesn't automatically create a better growth strategy. In some organizations, adding another tool simply adds another layer of complexity.

The challenge isn't necessarily a lack of capability. It may be a lack of connection.

Leadership has to understand how the organization's resources work together and whether they are actually working toward the same objectives.

A business can have excellent technology and poor strategy. It can automate an inefficient process. It can produce more content without becoming more authoritative. It can generate more activity without creating more value.

The objective should not be to accumulate more marketing capabilities. It should be to build a system where the right capabilities reinforce one another.

That requires strategic judgment.

Before adding another platform, campaign, technology or service, leadership should ask: "What role does this play in the larger growth system?"

If the answer isn't clear, adding more may not solve the problem. It may simply make the problem harder to see.
