AI Models are Stealing from Podcasters. Instant IP® Launches Protect the Podcast to Fight Back
TelAve News/10903072
Instant IP offers a free IP credit to help podcasters protect episodes, show concepts, interviews, scripts, frameworks, signature questions, and other valuable creative assets.
COLUMBUS, Ohio - TelAve -- Podcasters spend years developing their voices, audiences, stories, frameworks, interview styles, and original ideas. Artificial intelligence can scrape, transcribe, ingest, imitate, and reproduce that work in seconds.
The podcaster receive no credit, permission, attribution, or compensation.
That is why Instant IP has launched Protect the Podcastᴵᴾ, an initiative designed to help podcasters protect the intellectual property created through their shows.
"Your podcast is not just content," said Kary Oberbrunner, CEO of Instant IP. "It contains your voice, stories, original language, frameworks, interviews, signature questions, episode concepts, and years of expertise. In the age of AI, publishing without creating proof of ownership leaves valuable IP exposed."

AI companies can use podcast audio and transcripts to train systems, generate summaries, recreate ideas, imitate voices, and answer prompts. The original creator can disappear from the process.
A user may receive a strategy, phrase, framework, or insight through an AI prompt and believe the machine created it. In reality, the response may contain a podcaster's IP stripped of its source and attribution.
"The creator does the thinking, takes the risk, builds the audience, and produces the original work," Oberbrunner said. "Then the machine can steal it and serve it to millions of users."
The issue is personal for Oberbrunner, a Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author whose TEDx talk has received more than one million views.
He discovered an AI-generated article that reproduced his TEDx talk nearly word for word without authorization or attribution. After he presented documentation of his ownership and issued a cease-and-desist notice, the copied material was removed within hours.

"Proof changes the conversation," Oberbrunner said. "Without evidence, you are making a claim. With a timestamped record and chain of custody, you are presenting documentation."
Protect the Podcastᴵᴾ encourages podcasters to protect completed episodes, transcripts, show concepts, scripts, frameworks, research, artwork, promotional assets, and other original materials before or immediately after publication.
Using Instant IP's patented blockchain process, creators can generate a cryptographic fingerprint and timestamp connected to the exact file they protected. This creates creator-controlled evidence showing what existed and when it was documented.
"Podcasters should not have to stop publishing to protect themselves," Oberbrunner said. "The new sequence is simple: Publish. Protect. Promote. Profit."
Protect the Podcastᴵᴾ helps creators preserve the connection between their identities and the ideas they release into the world.
"Your voice is valuable. Your ideas are valuable. Your podcast is intellectual property," Oberbrunner said. "Protect it before it trains someone else's model."
