Andy Watson is speaking at the Largest Air Show in the World!

COLUMBUS, Ohio - July 10, 2018 - TelAve -- Andy Watson of atcAndy.com, air traffic controller and pilot, will be speaking at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh on July 28, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:15 a.m. at Forum Stage 9 – Stratus by Appareo building, which has a capacity of 300 people. According to EAA, in 2017, AirVenture Oshkosh had approximately 590,000 attendees (2,527 international visitors from 80 nations), more than 10,000 aircraft flown in (approximately 123 takeoffs/landings per hour), 2,991 total Showplanes and 881 Commercial Exhibitors.
Andy will be presenting Air Traffic Control: Who's Really in Control… a course he developed to teach aviation topics from the air traffic controller's point of view. Topics include: ATC expectations of pilots, how to communicate effectively during an in-flight emergency, why ATC makes certain decisions based upon priority levels, traffic advisories, Spatial Disorientation, a midair collision case study, and a real life radar and frequency recording of jet pilots with Hypoxia. Andy Watson is a keynote speaker discussing air traffic control topics for Air Shows and Universities. Andy is a Front Line Manager at Charleston Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT)/Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) in South Carolina. Before that, Andy was an Air Traffic Safety Inspector working in the FAA's Air Traffic Safety Oversight in Washington D.C., a Front Line Manager at Chicago Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC), and an Air Traffic Controller for seven years at Cleveland ARTCC. Andy earned a Bachelor's of Science in Aviation from the University of North Dakota. Andy is an Instrument Rated Private Pilot and has been flying since 1989, when he started in his hometown of Marysville, Ohio.
