NEWARK, N.J. - TelAve -- Stone Entertainment Productions and Birch Tree Entertainment have opened global streaming sales for The Karate Weirdo. Arriving on the market following an award-winning festival run and a Newark red-carpet preview, the Jonas Correia-directed drama captured Best First-Time Filmmaker and Best Young Actress. Birch Tree Entertainment will present the title to major streaming platforms for an Exclusive or Original premiere.

A Market-Ready Hook: Martial Arts Legacy Meets Social Impact
The Karate Weirdo delivers a high-impact narrative tailored for streaming platforms seeking distinct content with strong algorithm potential:

• Final Performance of a Martial Arts Legend: The film marks the final on-screen appearance of Sensei Fumio Demura, the world-renowned Shito-ryu Karate Master who served as the real-life inspiration for The Karate Kid's Mr. Miyagi and franchise stunt double. "Sensei Demura brings irreplaceable emotional weight and authenticity to this project," says Director Jonas Correia.

Bullying is something so many young people face, especially those who feel like outsiders," notes Executive Producer Claudia Knutsson.

• Capitalizing on Franchise Momentum: Situated at the intersection of the massive global footprint of the Karate Kid and Cobra Kai universes, the film offers platforms a turnkey asset with a highly active, built-in global fanbase.

Strategic Platform Positioning
"The Karate Weirdo is more than a martial arts story – it is a vital, timely exploration of neurodiversity and resilience," states Art Birzneck, President of Birch Tree Entertainment. "With its powerful anti-bullying themes, built-in martial arts legacy, and broad demographic appeal, this film represents a plug-and-play hit for global streaming platforms seeking high-retention content."
