In addition to the elected members, the Board of Directors voted unanimously to extend a special invitation to Jack Suess to serve in a one-year appointed position on the Board.

Jack Suess serves as Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where he leads technology initiatives that support the institution's mission as a leading public research university. Throughout his distinguished career, Jack has provided leadership across the higher education technology community through his service with EDUCAUSE, Internet2/InCommon, 1EdTech, and REN-ISAC. He has also served as Board Chair for both EDUCAUSE and 1EdTech, helping shape national conversations around technology, interoperability, and innovation in higher education.

"Apereo is honored to welcome 'the Davids' and Jack to our Board of Directors," said Patrick Masson, Apereo's Executive Director. "Each has served in senior technology leadership roles at leading colleges and universities, bringing decades of experience as CIOs and executive IT leaders who understand both the strategic priorities of higher education and the critical role that open source plays in achieving them. Their collective leadership will strengthen Apereo's ability to engage with peers across the higher education community, from CIOs and technology executives to institutional leaders and nonprofit organizations, while helping ensure that the voices of campuses actively shaping the future of digital infrastructure are heard."
