London, 7 September 2026 — Autolane is a new free marketplace for private car sales across the UK. List your car at no cost (up to 10 listings a year) and search real private adverts without fees or middlemen.
The problem
Major sites charge private sellers high fees — often £50 to £150 just to list a car for 28 days. If it doesn't sell, you pay again. These costs get added to the price, so buyers pay more and sellers keep less.
How Autolane is different
Listing is free. You create an account, add photos and details, and set your price. Your username and mobile number appear on the advert so buyers can call or message you straight away. There is no commission and no in-app chat delay.

Buyers get simple search filters (make, model, price, year, mileage, fuel, location and more) without dealer adverts or paid promotions getting in the way.
Disrupting the old model
"High listing fees protect the platforms more than they help ordinary people," said the Autolane team. "We built Autolane so listing costs nothing and contacting a seller is immediate. We hope this free approach encourages more genuine private sales."
