FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. - TelAve -- Film and music enthusiasts are invited to step into the magic of silver-screen history on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 3:00 PM, as the award-winning SoSco Duo presents Magical Music & Stories from the Movies at the Fountain Hills Library.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, this 60-minute concert offers free admission and blends live flute and guitar arrangements with commentary on some of cinema's most famous musical moments.

Guided by guitarist Alex Mack, the performance takes listeners on a journey through iconic film scores, including:

• Francis Lai's sweeping Theme from Love Story
• John Barry's majestic John Dunbar Theme (Dances with Wolves)
• Nino Rota's haunting themes from The Godfather
• Howard Shore's serene In Dreams (The Lord of the Rings)

Alongside the live performance, Mack will share the history, anecdotes, and creative secrets behind these classic movie themes.

"Music is the emotional heart of great filmmaking," says Mack. "We created this program to let audiences relive their favorite movie moments while discovering the fascinating stories behind how these masterpieces came to be."

Voted Best Local Band/Musician for 2026, SoSco Duo features the pairing of Laura Strickland on flute and Alex Mack on classical guitar. Formed by musicians trained at top conservatory programs, the duo is known throughout Arizona for their acoustic arrangements, across genres ranging from classical and Broadway to cinematic scores.
