Bloomington: BMCMPO Opens Public Review of 2028–2032 Transportation Improvement Program

The Bloomington ~ The Bloomington-Monroe County Metropolitan Planning Organization will hold a public open house Oct. 12 to gather input on its proposed Fiscal Year 2028-2032 Transportation Improvement Program.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the McCloskey Conference Room at Bloomington City Hall. Attendees can comment on proposed projects and help shape transportation investment priorities for the next five years, the organization said.
The TIP lists planned, federally funded multimodal transportation projects for the Indiana Department of Transportation, Monroe County, Rural Transit, Bloomington Transit and the City of Bloomington within the urbanized area.

The draft program will be available for public review from Oct. 2 through Nov. 1, 2026, online at bloomington.in.gov/mpo/transportation-improvement-program and in print at Bloomington City Hall, 401 N. Morton St., Suite 130.
Written comments may be submitted at the Oct. 12 meeting or by postal mail to the Bloomington-Monroe County Metropolitan Planning Organization, P.O. Box 100, Bloomington, IN 47402. The release also lists email as a comment option but does not provide an email address.
MPO staff will document public input and share it with the organization's committees. The Technical Advisory Committee and Citizens Advisory Committee are scheduled to meet Dec. 2, 2026, to recommend adoption. The Policy Committee is scheduled to vote on the plan Dec. 4.
The program must undergo public review and committee consideration before it is submitted to state and federal agencies for final approval, according to the organization.
