~ Bloomington, IN - In an effort to provide residents with expanded digital access, the city has announced the availability of free public Wi-Fi at two new locations. Seminary Park and Hopewell Commons, the newest park in Bloomington, now offer internet speeds of up to 100 Mbps.

This development is a significant step towards achieving the goals set out in the City's Digital Opportunity Strategic Plan. The plan aims to ensure that all residents have access to reliable internet, devices, and digital tools necessary for full participation in civic and economic life.

These two additions mark the first new public Wi-Fi sites since 2023 and are part of a growing network of free community spaces and access points throughout Bloomington. Other locations where residents can connect include Peoples Park, John Waldron Arts Center, Hill & Buskirk Park, Rev. Ernest D. Butler Park, Crestmont Park, and Bryan Park Pool.

The availability of free public Wi-Fi at these locations is a significant step towards bridging the digital divide in Bloomington and providing equal opportunities for all residents to stay connected.
