British Author Benjamin Lloyd Announces the Release of Misstep: A Chilling New DI Carson Mystery Set

British novelist Benjamin Lloyd announces Misstep, the fourth DI Carson Mysteries novel. Set in Greenland's remote Nanortalik, DI Jack Carson and wife Eva investigate a cruise ship crewmate's death that proves far more sinister.
MALDON, U.K. - TelAve -- British novelist Benjamin Lloyd announces the release of Misstep, the fourth novel in the DI Carson Mysteries series, a tense and atmospheric crime thriller set against the harsh beauty of Greenland's remote southern coast. In this latest installment, Detective Inspector Jack Carson and his wife Eva are sent to Nanortalik, a small fjord town where a routine paperwork exercise quickly becomes a murder inquiry, and the accidental death of a cruise ship crewmate far more sinister.
Combining forensic detail, dry humour, and mounting suspense, Misstep finds Carson navigating an isolated community, a ship trapped by gathering ice, and a case shaped by secrecy, local tensions, and a deadly attack that is not what it first appears to be. The novel draws on striking visual contrasts: a misty harbour, icebergs crowding the bay, a cruise ship anchored offshore, and a small town where everyone seems to know more than they are saying.

"Misstep is about what happens when a case that looks straightforward turns treacherous," says Lloyd. "I wanted to capture the atmosphere of a place that is both beautiful and unforgiving, and to put Carson in a setting where he has to think fast, trust his instincts, and keep his sense of humour under pressure."
As the fourth DI Carson novel, Misstep continues Lloyd's series of character-driven mysteries that blend contemporary police work with strong setting, sharp dialogue, and a growing emotional connection between Carson and Eva. Moving from quiet unease to open danger, with a sealed-off cruise ship, a suspicious post-mortem, and a network of clues that point to something much darker beneath the surface.
Misstep is now available for pre-order on Amazon (https://link.amazon/B044jk7Qx)
