Can Modern Tools Capture the Sound of Mardi Gras?
TelAve News/10887216
A New Orleans creative agency explores technology, restraint, and tradition through sound
NEW ORLEANS - TelAve -- Mardi Gras has a sound long before it has a look. It's the horns you hear before you see anything, the rhythm that pulls people into the street without asking permission.
New Orleans–based creative agency HEROfarm recently explored that idea through a sound-driven creative experiment, asking a simple but increasingly relevant question: can modern tools be used without sanding down the things that make Mardi Gras sound like itself?
The project resulted in three original Mardi Gras–inspired tracks: (Mama Said) Follow the Horns, Sweet Orleans, and Meet Me on the Street. Built around brass, second-line rhythm, and movement, the songs were created as reference points rather than commercial products. HEROfarm emphasizes that technology played a supporting role, with judgment, listening, and local context guiding every decision.
