Coastal Orthopedics' surgery center, known as Musculoskeletal Ambulatory Surgery Center and located at 8000 State Road 64 in Bradenton, Florida, was named amongst 19 other ambulatory surgery centers in Florida in the area of orthopedics and spine.
Coastal Orthopedics' surgery center relocated to its current location on State Road 64 in 2022 to better serve its patients who live in the rapidly growing Manatee and Sarasota counties. The facility offers same-day surgery and features the latest in cutting-edge medical equipment and surgical devices to allow its physicians to perform the most effective techniques for each case. Additionally, the 88,000-square-foot headquarters also houses clinical services, a physical therapy department, administrative offices and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), among other services.
"We are thrilled to be recognized as a Best Ambulatory Surgery Center by U.S. News & World Report for the second consecutive year," said Paige LeMay, CEO of Coastal Orthopedics. Ambulatory surgery centers were evaluated based entirely on objective, risk-adjusted measures of its patients' outcomes, including how successfully they avoided complications, ER visits, unplanned hospitalizations and other undesirable outcomes. To ensure fair comparisons among ambulatory surgery centers, the analysis accounted for each patient's pre-existing conditions and other risk factors. U.S. News & World Report recognizes only the highest-rated surgery centers in each specialty that satisfy U.S. News & World Report's statistical assessment of performance; fewer than 17 percent of evaluated facilities earned a Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers rating for the 2025 study.
"U.S. News' second edition of the ambulatory surgery centers ratings empowers consumers to find a local outpatient facility that matches their surgical needs with exceptional outcomes," said Chelsey Wen, senior health data analyst at U.S. News. "These ratings help patients, in consultation with their doctors, choose facilities focused on quality and safety."
