Colorado: Governor Polis Appoints Andrew D. Herlihy to the El Paso County Court

DENVER ~ Governor Polis has announced the appointment of Andrew D. Herlihy as the newest judge in the El Paso County Court for the 4th Judicial District. The appointment comes after the retirement of Honorable D. Denise Peacock and will be effective from August 1, 2026.
Mr. Herlihy brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as a District Court Magistrate in the 4th Judicial District since 2025. In this position, he has presided over cases involving juvenile delinquency and domestic relations matters. Prior to this, he worked as an Assistant County Attorney in the El Paso County Attorney's Office from 2024 to 2025 and as a Deputy District Attorney in the 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office from 2014 to 2024.

With a Bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Wyoming College of Law, Mr. Herlihy is well-equipped to take on his new responsibilities as a judge in the El Paso County Court. His appointment is expected to bring valuable insights and expertise to the court system in Colorado.
