Colorado: Governor Polis Visits Grand Junction Business Supporting Coloradans with Sensory Needs

GRAND JUNCTION ~ Grand Junction, CO - Governor Jared Polis visited The Sensory Store today to learn more about the employees and customers of one of the community's newest small businesses. The store, which offers sensory tools, toys, and fidgets for individuals with autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, and developmental disabilities, has been praised by the governor for its commitment to inclusivity.
"Coloradans of all abilities deserve businesses that understand and meet their needs," Governor Polis stated during his visit. "The Sensory Store is exactly the kind of local innovation that makes Grand Junction, and Colorado as a whole, a more welcoming place to live, work, and play. This new business not only creates jobs but also provides much-needed resources for individuals with unique needs. I am proud to see small businesses like this stepping up to build a Colorado For All."

The Sensory Store was created in response to a growing need in the community for specialized products that support individuals of all ages and abilities. With a carefully curated selection of sensory products, the store aims to cater to those with autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, intellectual and developmental disabilities.
In April of this year, The Sensory Store received a $15,000 grant through the Office of Economic Development and International Trade's Rural Jump-Start program. This program aims to support regional economic and workforce development by promoting local business growth and creating new job opportunities.
The governor's visit highlights the importance of small businesses like The Sensory Store in creating an inclusive and diverse community. With its dedication to meeting the needs of all individuals regardless of ability or disability, The Sensory Store is making a positive impact on Grand Junction's economy and society as a whole.
