Colorado: Sons Gaming LLC Launches in Morgan County with Support from Rural Jump-Start

BRUSH ~ In a move to boost economic development and job creation in rural areas of Colorado, Governor Jared Polis and the Business Funding and Incentives (BF&I) division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) have announced that Sons Gaming LLC has joined the Rural Jump-Start initiative.

Sons Gaming, a company specializing in arcade games and entertainment, plans to open an arcade and entertainment center in Brush to serve families in Northeast Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming. The company aims to provide a diverse range of classic arcade and video games for all age groups, from young children to adults. As they continue to grow, Sons Gaming plans to add high-fidelity simulators, virtual reality experiences, and escape rooms.

Governor Polis expressed his excitement for the new business venture during his statement. "In Colorado, we are helping businesses grow and create new jobs across the state. I welcome and look forward to visiting Sons Gaming in Morgan County which will bring family fun opportunities to Brush, boost the local economy, and create new jobs."

Founder of Sons Gaming Evan Nicholson also shared his enthusiasm for joining the Rural Jump-Start program. "I am so excited that Sons Gaming has been accepted into the program. I look forward to the opportunities it presents for Mile High growth in the community."

As part of the Rural Jump-Start program, Sons Gaming will receive $25,000 in grant funding to support their launch as well as four years of tax benefits. Eligible employees will also receive a state personal income tax credit while the company is in the program.

OEDIT Executive Director Eve Lieberman emphasized the importance of programs like Rural Jump-Start in supporting regional economic diversification and creating new jobs. "The Rural Jump-Start program is an important tool to support regional economic diversification, create new jobs, and strengthen communities across our state," she said. "We are thrilled that Sons Gaming has selected Brush for their new arcade and entertainment center, which will offer a welcoming space and diversify the local economy."

Sponsoring entities like Morgan County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) play a crucial role in identifying potential businesses for the Rural Jump-Start program. MCEDC Executive Director Kristin Clifford-Basil expressed her excitement for Sons Gaming's impact on the community. "Sons Gaming represents exactly the kind of entrepreneurial investment we are excited to support through the Rural Jump-Start Program," she stated. "Not only is Evan creating a new business, but he is bringing a unique family entertainment destination to Morgan County that will provide residents and visitors with new opportunities to connect, gather, and have fun."
