Colorado Springs: City to observe Thanksgiving holiday Thursday and Friday

~ As Thanksgiving approaches, the City of Colorado Springs has announced that all administrative and elected offices and agencies will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28. This closure is in observance of the holiday and to allow employees to spend time with their families.

According to the city's press release, the following offices will be closed on both Thursday and Friday: Mountain Metropolitan Transit administrative offices, cemetery offices (although gates at Fairview and Evergreen will remain open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.), City Clerk's office, City Hall, Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, Deerfield Hills Community Center, Hillside Community Center, Municipal Court, Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Administrative Building, Rockledge Ranch Historic Site, Sales Tax Office, Sports Office in Memorial Park, Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center, and Westside Community Center (including the Therapeutic Recreation Program Office).

However, some facilities will have different operating hours. Pikes Peak - America's Mountain will be closed on Thursday but open on Friday. Patty Jewett Golf Course will also be closed on Thursday but its bar and grill will remain open. Sertich Ice Center and Valley Hi Golf Course and Grill & Pub will both be closed on Thursday but open on Friday.
