Colorado Springs: Driver dies after July 9 crash on South Powers and East Fountain Boulevard
TelAve News/10902299
~ On Thursday morning, a tragic multi-vehicle crash occurred on South Powers Boulevard in Colorado Springs. The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a call at 09:12 a.m. reporting the accident near East Fountain Boulevard.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found that the crash had taken place in the southbound lanes of traffic. It was determined that the southbound traffic had come to a stop for a red traffic signal on South Powers Boulevard. A dump truck was stopped in the center lane, waiting for the signal, when a silver SUV approached from behind and began to slow down. However, a third vehicle, a gold sedan, failed to slow down and rear-ended the silver SUV. This initial collision caused both vehicles to then strike the rear of the stopped dump truck.
