TelAve News/10902171
(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia's Public Works Street division crews are set to perform concrete repairs at two locations on July 27-28, weather permitting. In the event of rain, the project will be pushed to the next clear weather day.

On Monday, July 27, starting at 6 a.m., Street division crews will begin repairing the right southbound lane of Scott Boulevard near West Georgetown Drive. The left southbound lane will remain open for traffic while crews work to replace a damaged concrete slab that has caused an uneven driving surface. To ensure safety and efficiency, the lane closure will start north of the work area near West Millbrook Drive, allowing enough space for traffic to merge into the open southbound lane.

To inform motorists of the upcoming work, electronic message boards will be placed on Scott Boulevard near Rainbow Trout Drive. The repairs are expected to be completed and the lane reopened by 5 p.m. on the same day.

The following day, Tuesday, July 28, Street division crews will move on to repair chipped concrete and replace signage on Bernadette Drive's median near Stadium Boulevard. This will result in one of the two left-turn lanes from Bernadette Drive onto Stadium Boulevard being closed during repairs. Additionally, the portion of the left-turn lane that allows eastbound traffic on Bernadette Drive to turn into Phillips 66 gas station will also be closed.

Crews anticipate completing their work and reopening all lanes by 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

These repairs are necessary for maintaining safe and smooth driving conditions in Columbia. Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and follow all posted signs and instructions from crew members during this time.
