Despite the closure, all entrances and exits to the Eighth and Walnut Plaza Parking Garage will remain accessible. However, customers entering from North Eighth Street must approach from East Walnut Street and vehicles exiting onto North Eighth Street must turn right.
Pedestrians can still access sidewalks in the area as they will remain open during this phase of construction. Once work on the west side of the Guitar Building is completed, crews will shift their operations to the north side of the building. This will require a closure of the eastbound lane on East Walnut Street at a later date.
City officials have stated that a follow-up press release will be issued with details about the closure on East Walnut Street as work progresses and a schedule becomes available. Drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly and follow posted detours for their safety during this construction period.
