Columbia: Update: Overnight road closure of South Sinclair Road at West Southampton Drive, June 29-30

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia residents can expect a slight change in their commute next week as the overnight road closure of South Sinclair Road has been rescheduled. Originally set to begin on June 25, the closure will now take place on Monday, June 29 at 7 p.m. This change is due to weather conditions.

The closure is necessary for the installation of storm sewer pipes as part of a private development project that includes the construction of a roundabout. Motorists traveling northbound on South Sinclair Road will be detoured via Muirfield Drive, while southbound traffic will remain open until West Southampton Drive with barricades placed south of the intersection.

To ensure smooth traffic flow, electronic message boards and temporary traffic signs will be in place to guide drivers through the area. Additionally, sidewalks in the work area will be closed overnight.

The road is expected to reopen by 7 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30. Residents are advised to plan their routes accordingly and follow all posted signs for their safety and the safety of others.
