Costa Oil Filters to serve as primary sponsor of Cody Ware and the No. 51 Rick Ware Racing Chevrolet at Iowa Speedway

NEWTON, Iowa - TelAve -- Costa Oil Filters will take center stage at Iowa Speedway, joining Cody Ware and Rick Ware Racing as the primary sponsor of the No. 51 for the Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol on Sunday, August 9.

The partnership will put Costa Oil Filters prominently on Ware's No. 51 as the NASCAR Cup Series takes on the 0.875-mile Iowa Speedway, with the race scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EDT.

The Iowa weekend represents the latest expansion of Costa Oil's involvement in NASCAR and an opportunity for the company to use the national motorsports platform to showcase another growing part of the Costa Oil family of brands.

"We've really enjoyed using the NASCAR platform to showcase different aspects of the Costa Oil system, and now we get the opportunity to put Costa Oil Filters front and center," said Costa Kapothanasis, Founder of Costa Oil. "We've built our business around oil changes and vehicle maintenance, so filters are a natural extension of what we do every single day. To showcase that brand with Cody, the No. 51 and Rick Ware Racing at Iowa Speedway is something we're really excited about."

Costa Oil Filters was developed with the real-world experience of the Costa Oil – 10 Minute Oil Change system behind it. With Costa Oil locations servicing hundreds of thousands of vehicles annually, filtration isn't simply another product category for the company — it is an integral part of its everyday business.

That connection makes NASCAR and Rick Ware Racing a natural platform for growing awareness of the Costa Oil Filters brand.

"Race fans understand cars, performance and the importance of taking care of what you drive," Kapothanasis added. "We want Costa Oil Filters to become a name people recognize when it comes time to service their vehicle. Iowa gives us a great opportunity to introduce the brand to a much larger audience."

About Rick Ware Racing

Rick Ware has been a motorsports mainstay for more than 40 years. It started at age 6 when the third-generation racer began his driving career and has since spanned four wheels and two wheels on both asphalt and dirt. Competing in the SCCA Trans Am Series and other road-racing divisions led Ware to NASCAR in the early 1980s, where he finished third in his NASCAR debut – the 1983 Warner W. Hodgdon 300 NASCAR Grand American race at Riverside (Calif.) International Raceway. In 1995, Rick Ware Racing was formed, and with wife Lisa by his side, Ware transitioned out of the driver's seat and into full-time team ownership. He has since built his eponymous organization into an entity that competes full-time in the elite NASCAR Cup Series while simultaneously campaigning winning teams in the Top Fuel class of the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, Progressive American Flat Track (AFT), FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) and zMAX CARS Tour.
