Dead Dogs Don't Bite Imagines a Weapon That Could Change Warfare Without Taking a Life
TelAve News/10906221
T. S. Anderson's military techno-thriller explores covert operations, personal responsibility, and the global struggle to control a revolutionary nonlethal weapon.
ORLANDO, Fla. - TelAve -- Author T. S. Anderson explores the collision of military innovation, moral responsibility, and global power in Dead Dogs Don't Bite, a military techno-thriller about an inventor determined to stop weapons of war without killing the people operating them.
Jonathan Weber has spent more than twenty years designing advanced weapons systems for the United States. When one of his creations kills someone he cares about, he leaves the defense industry behind. Haunted by the loss, Jonathan pursues a radical idea: create technology capable of disabling military machines while preserving the lives inside them.
His answer is LUCY, a compact pulse weapon designed to disable electronics in vehicles and other systems without firing a conventional round. Jonathan secretly assembles a team of engineers, scientists, pilots, and former military operators to develop the technology. Their work produces BETTY, a fast unmanned aircraft that can deliver the same disabling power from the sky, and later NAUTICA, a maritime system carried aboard the yacht Scepter.

The project soon grows far beyond Jonathan's intentions. Unexplained military failures appear across continents, drawing the attention of the CIA, the FBI, foreign governments, defense contractors, and mercenaries willing to kill for control of the technology. A system created to reduce casualties may become one of the most strategically valuable weapons ever developed.
Moving from secret facilities in Missouri to Afghanistan, Europe, the Korean coast, and Washington, Dead Dogs Don't Bite combines covert missions, political intrigue, military technology, and international suspense. At the center of the story is a difficult question: Can a weapon powerful enough to make conventional weapons useless remain a force for preservation once the world discovers it exists?
"The story examines what can happen when a well-intentioned invention becomes more powerful than the person who created it," Anderson said. "Jonathan wants to save lives, but every successful test makes LUCY and BETTY more valuable—and more dangerous to possess."
