Finalized by the author shortly before his untimely passing; arriving this week for the fall literary season.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - TelAve -- DonnaInk Publications proudly announces the release of Astonishing Travel Tales, the final completed work of satirist and storyteller Wayne Tatum. The manuscript was finished shortly before Wayne's untimely passing, and although the title arrives slightly behind schedule, it is perfectly timed for fall readers who enjoy humor, imagination, and heartfelt storytelling.

Astonishing Travel Tales gathers Wayne's most whimsical and reflective works into one immersive collection. Adapted from his earlier writings, including Illustrated Tales for the Easily Entertained and the unreleased satire The Epic Despondency of Grumblemesh, the book carries Wayne's signature blend of clever satire, gentle faith, and playful absurdity. Readers will encounter cattle‑trail cowpokes debating hygiene and history, a talkative couch navigating mob mishaps, dragons negotiating royalties, UFOs shaped like root vegetables, moose equipped with translation collars, and ancient soldiers receiving divine instructions from shining visitors. Wayne once described his approach as "using slightly absurd, but nearly believable scenarios that caused me to laugh when thinking of old friends in those roles," a spirit that shines throughout the collection.

The book features a Foreword by John Previti, Wayne's lifelong friend and a celebrated American bassist known for his vibrant stage presence and decades of work with guitar legend Danny Gatton. Previti's tribute offers a warm reflection on Wayne's creativity and the friendship that shaped their artistic lives.

The manuscript was edited by Laurie Martin Roberts, whose careful guidance preserved Wayne's voice and rhythm. Early reviews by Laurie Seaquist highlight the book's charm, warmth, and inventive storytelling.

Publisher Donna Quesinberry shared, "Wayne wanted this book to be a gift. He completed it with intention, humor, and heart. Releasing it now, in time for fall, honors both his craftsmanship and his legacy. Unfortunately, we did not have opportunity to release this title spring 2026; however, we are prepared for the advent of fall in recognition of Mr. Tatum and his friends and family."
