Drive Out Hunger Golf Tournament raises $14,596 for Harry Chapin Food Bank

FORT MYERS, Fla. - TelAve -- Golf enthusiasts teed up to support hunger relief at the third annual Drive Out Hunger Golf Tournament, which was held Oct. 27 at The Club at Pelican Preserve in Fort Myers.

Drive Out Hunger attracted 116 golfers and raised $14,596 for Harry Chapin Food Bank, the region's largest hunger-relief organization and the only Feeding America partner food bank in Southwest Florida.

"We are so thankful for The Club at Pelican Preserve for partnering with us on our mission to drive out hunger across Southwest Florida," said Richard LeBer, president and CEO of Harry Chapin Food Bank. "Events and partnerships like these are vital to ensure no one goes hungry in our community."

Each month, Harry Chapin Food Bank provides food to more than 250,000 neighbors, including children, seniors, families and veterans. In addition to permanent food pantries, Harry Chapin Food Bank coordinates mobile pantries nearly every day at locations across Southwest Florida in partnership with community centers, churches, government offices, civic clubs and other organizations.
