Evansville: Mayor Terry Appoints Gabrielle Miller as Community Affairs & Special Projects Director

EVANSVILLE, Ind. ~ Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry has announced the appointment of Gabrielle Miller as the new Community Affairs & Special Projects Director. In this role, Miller will be responsible for leading community engagement efforts for the Mayor's Office and acting as a liaison to neighborhood associations, nonprofits, and other community stakeholders.
With over a decade of experience in the healthcare, wellness, and education sectors, Miller brings a wealth of knowledge to her new position. She holds a Bachelor of Science in International Community Development with a specialization in Public and Global Health from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master of Arts in Global Development and Social Justice from Multnomah University.
Prior to her appointment, Miller served as an Adjunct Professor at Ivy Tech where she taught courses in Human Services and Criminal Justice. She also has experience working as an educator with the Warrick and Evansville Vanderburgh County School Corporations, focusing on developing youth programs to address academic and behavioral needs in underserved communities.

In addition to her professional roles, Miller has also been involved in various cross-cultural and interfaith initiatives around the world. She has taught English at ClubAnglais in Tunisia, North Africa, worked with the J.D. Sheth Foundation to establish a mental health clinic in Costa Rica, and supported ministry and community outreach efforts abroad through Christian Fellowship Church, Agape Life Church, God's House, and other international ministry partners.
Mayor Terry expressed her excitement about Miller's appointment stating that "Gabrielle brings experience in education, community engagement, and serving others." She believes that Miller's understanding of the importance of listening to residents, building strong partnerships, and being present in neighborhoods will have a positive impact on the community.
Miller is eager to begin her new role as Community Affairs & Special Projects Director for Evansville. With her diverse background and passion for serving others, she is well-equipped to lead community engagement efforts for the Mayor's Office. Residents can look forward to her contributions in gathering feedback, supporting communications efforts and events, and developing programs that address the needs of the community.
