FDOT Certifies LiDAR into GovComm's Wrong-Way Vehicle Detection Systems (WWVDS)
TelAve News/10850431
GovComm's LiDAR WWVDS scored 100% testing accuracy with 0 false calls
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - TelAve -- With more than 350 wrong-way vehicle detection systems (WWVDS) sold in Florida, GovComm is the clear industry leader. Our WWVDS improves highway safety, prevents accidents and saves lives.
As an option to thermal and visual video detection, GovComm developed innovative AI perception software to pair with our solid-state LiDAR for best-in-class detection accuracy. The system uses a 180° solid-state LiDAR sensor to monitor detection and confirmation zones to help determine if a vehicle attempts to enter a highway from an exit ramp.
While these incidents are relatively rare in comparison to other traffic accidents, they prove to be disproportionally fatal. GovComm's WWVDS leverages innovative AI technology that has proven to be a game-changer in enhancing road safety and driving toward the Vision Zero mission of safeguarding lives.
