~ As the planning study for the rebuild and utility replacement of Spokane Falls Boulevard nears its completion, the City of Spokane is calling on community members to provide their input on the proposed concepts for the corridor. According to Public Works Director Marlene Feist, this is a crucial opportunity for residents to have their say in shaping the future of this iconic downtown street.

The City has released a short video outlining the proposed concepts, which were developed based on feedback gathered from previous outreach efforts. The first survey conducted identified four main priorities: improving pedestrian safety and access, enhancing the corridor's appearance, supporting downtown activity, and creating a more connected transportation network.

Residents are encouraged to watch the five-minute video and complete a survey by Friday, July 31st. This will be their last chance to weigh in before the study concludes. The high-traffic scenic street runs past popular landmarks such as the Spokane Convention Center, First Interstate Center for the Arts, Riverfront Park, and Place of Truths Plaza. Originally known as Front Avenue, it was once a wide dirt road lined with warehouses and industrial businesses.

Once the planning study is finalized, design work will commence along with securing funding for the project. As stated by Communications Manager Kirstin Davis, "This is our last call for community input before we move into the design phase."
