~ On Thursday, September 10, 2026, Governor Ron DeSantis issued a proclamation to honor and remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States of America. In his statement, Governor DeSantis directed all flags at local and state buildings, installations, and grounds in Florida to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Friday, September 11.

The Patriot Day Proclamation was issued to pay tribute to the 2,977 individuals who lost their lives in the attacks, including first responders, local law enforcement, and military personnel who showed immense bravery in the face of terror. The directive serves as a reminder of the unity and resilience of our nation during times of tragedy.
