Freespace Robotics, SAIS & O2F Partner for Warehouse Automation
TelAve News/10908551
Freespace Robotics, SAIS Services and Origin to Future partner to accelerate warehouse automation through robotics, AI, systems integration and global deployment.
DALLAS - TelAve -- Freespace Robotics, SAIS Services and Origin to Future Launch Strategic Partnership to Accelerate Logistics Automation and Commercial Scale
Initial collaboration positions Freespace as the core material-handling automation platform, with SAIS as an end-to-end technology integration and global deployment partner and O2F providing specialized workforce scale, while creating a path for broader Carnegie Foundry collaboration.
PITTSBURGH, PA and PLANO, TX – 06-October-2026 – Freespace Robotics, SAIS Services and Origin to Future (O2F) today announced a strategic collaboration designed to accelerate the integration, deployment and commercialization of advanced warehouse automation solutions. The initial focus is Freespace Robotics, with the parties also exploring opportunities to extend the model to additional Carnegie Foundry portfolio companies and strategic initiatives over time.
Freespace Robotics, a Carnegie Foundry company, is developing next-generation automated storage and retrieval technology for warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, last mile operations and industrial applications.
The collaboration positions Freespace as the core automation platform, combining its high-density storage, retrieval, buffering and sequencing technology with SAIS Services' end-to-end software engineering, systems integration, AI, intelligent safety, controls, program execution and global deployment capabilities. O2F provides additional engineering, controls, commissioning and field resources to support project execution and scale.
Together, the companies can provide customers with a coordinated path from system design and technology integration through deployment, commissioning, support and ongoing optimization.
Integrated Warehouse Automation
Modern warehouse automation requires storage, robotics, material handling, controls, warehouse software, safety technologies and operating data to function as an integrated system.
Freespace serves as the core platform within that environment. Its architecture can integrate with WMS/WES/WCS platforms, robotic picking and handling technologies, conveyors, sortation systems and other complementary automation. SAIS can serve as the end-to-end technology integration and deployment partner, providing the software, controls, systems integration, engineering, program management and field execution capabilities required to connect and deploy those technologies globally. O2F can provide technical and field resources for installation, commissioning and support.
Within the Freespace solution architecture, SAIS can provide capabilities spanning:
This allows Freespace to remain the core automation platform while SAIS provides the integration, software, program execution and deployment infrastructure needed to deliver complete customer solutions at scale.
More on TelAve News
The combined approach can support material flow across the entire process chain from receiving through shipping on an end-to-end basis. As a key differentiator, Freespace is flexible in handling standard material goods in cases through typically non-sortable items, while also providing buffering, sortation and sequencing capabilities for downstream distribution.
AI and Intelligent Safety
The collaboration can also incorporate SAIS technologies including GUARDION Warehouse and SENTRIQ, which use computer vision, sensing and AI-enabled monitoring to enhance safety around conveyors, mobile automation and other human-machine interaction points, to include the entire warehouse by zones. These capabilities can complement Freespace installations where customers require additional safety, monitoring or operational-intelligence functionality.
Open Architecture for Best-of-Breed Robotics
A central objective of the collaboration is to preserve an open architecture that allows Freespace, as the core platform, to integrate seamlessly with complementary best-of-breed robotics from conveyance to AMR systems and software. Companies that handle large volumes and variant-sized goods would benefit from this architecture. Benefits include AI-enabled robotic technologies for picking, sortation, unloading and other fulfillment operations that can complement automated storage and retrieval.
Under this model, Freespace provides the high-density storage, buffering, sequencing and material-delivery core while complementary robotics automate upstream and downstream processes. SAIS can provide the end-to-end systems-integration, software, engineering and deployment framework connecting those technologies. Third-party systems would provide the ancillary material handling and movement to the docks and vehicles including robotic picking arms and palletizing.
This approach allows solutions to be engineered around each customer's operating requirements rather than a closed portfolio of automation technologies.
Broader Carnegie Foundry Collaboration
The Freespace collaboration is intended to establish an initial operating model that may extend more broadly across Carnegie Foundry and participating portfolio companies over time. The parties are exploring opportunities where SAIS' end-to-end technology integration, commercialization and global deployment capabilities, together with O2F's workforce resources, can support other Carnegie Foundry technologies as they move from product development into customer deployment and commercial scale.
Any broader collaboration would be developed around the requirements of individual portfolio companies and opportunities, while preserving flexibility around technology partners, delivery models and customer-specific needs.
