GBAMFS Releases Comprehensive Three-Part Policy Report Supporting California's Protect Our Games Act (AB 1921)
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - TelAve -- GBAMFS Releases Comprehensive Three-Part Policy Report Supporting California's Protect Our Games Act (AB 1921)
Gaming Brethren Advocates Mutual-aid Federation & Society (GBAMFS) today announced the publication of a new multidisciplinary policy brief examining California's Protect Our Games Act (AB 1921). Prepared as a companion public comment for legislators and stakeholders, the report evaluates the proposal through three independent perspectives: Gaming Legacy & Community Impact, Game Industry & Designer Perspective, and an Engineering Report addressing long-term operational sustainability.
Rather than focusing solely on consumer rights, the report explores the legislation's practical implications for preservation, community-operated multiplayer, technical education, and the longstanding history of player-led support for legacy titles. Drawing upon decades of industry precedent, it concludes that AB 1921 represents a measured, flexible, and realistic first step toward modernizing digital consumer protections while preserving implementation flexibility for developers and publishers.

The report has been submitted to contribute constructively to the ongoing public discussion surrounding digital ownership, game preservation, and California's leadership in technology and consumer policy. The Brotherhood is supportive of the Stop Killing Games movement's aims. GBAMFS is an independent group founded and operating in US.
