TelAve News/10904480
ATLANTA ~ Governor Brian P. Kemp has announced his decision to appoint Stan Wise to the District 5 seat of the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC). This comes after the resignation of Commissioner Tricia Pridemore, effective September 4. Wise, who previously served on the Commission for 24 years and chaired it multiple times, will be filling in for Pridemore until her term expires on December 31 of this year.
In a statement, Governor Kemp expressed his gratitude for Pridemore's service on the Public Service Commission over the last eight years. He commended her for expanding Georgia's energy production and protecting the pockets of hardworking Georgians. He also thanked her for her contributions to reinforcing the state's grid.
Wise, who is currently an associate at the Pendleton Group, has agreed to step down from his position upon being sworn in as a Commissioner. Governor Kemp praised Wise's experience and wisdom, stating that his return to the PSC will be beneficial for Georgia. He also credited Wise with having the courage and foresight to make Georgia an economic powerhouse with its first nuclear reactors built in over 30 years.

In addition, he was appointed by U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz to serve on the National Petroleum Council in 2016 and was elected President of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners in 2003.
Before his time on the PSC, Wise served on various local and state boards including the Cobb County Commission and Planning Commission. He also owned an insurance business in Cobb County for two decades and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve for six years. Wise holds a B.S. in Business Management from Charleston Southern University.
Wise and his wife, Denise, have been active members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for over 40 years. They have two married children and four grandchildren.
