Goodwill Southwest Florida Named Unique Abilities Partner by State Agency

FORT MYERS, Fla. - TelAve -- Goodwill Southwest Florida (Goodwill SWFL) has been recognized as a Unique Abilities Partner by the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD).
The statewide designation highlights organizations committed to advancing employment, career development and financial independence for individuals with unique abilities, while strengthening inclusive workforce practices and community integration.
"This designation reflects our continued commitment to inclusion and positions us among a statewide network of partners supporting APD's mission to expand opportunities for individuals with disabilities across Florida," said Jessica Tursi, Director of Disability Services and Navigation for Goodwill Southwest Florida.
Goodwill Southwest Florida provides disability services through its Pathways to Opportunity and Disability Navigation programs.
Pathways to Opportunity (PTO) is a life skills training program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. PTO provides structured, person-centered programming focused on independent living, employment readiness, health and wellness, and community engagement. Serving over 100 individuals annually, the program offers more than 50 classes each week designed to help participants build meaningful, self-directed lives.

Launched in early 2023, the disability navigation program was created to support individuals with disabilities and their families in accessing critical services and resources. The program provides hands-on guidance through complex systems and connects individuals to community-based supports. Since its inception, the program has assisted hundreds of families across Southwest Florida, helping them better understand their options and navigate available services.
As part of the recognition, Goodwill Southwest Florida will be featured on the Florida Unique Abilities Partner Program website at https://apd.myflorida.com/unique/.
