Gov. Kemp Announces Georgia Activation at Great American State Fair

ATLANTA ~ Governor Brian P. Kemp of Georgia has announced that the state will be participating in the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C. as part of the nationwide celebration of America's 250th birthday. The fair, which will run from June 25 to July 10 on the National Mall, is one of many events being held in honor of the nation's semiquincentennial.

According to Gov. Kemp, Georgia is proud to join in this celebration and showcase its key industries and well-known companies such as Waffle House and Chick-fil-A. The state's pavilion will officially open on June 25 and will feature exhibits highlighting famous Georgia-grown goods and exclusive products from major Georgia-based brands.

The State of Georgia activation will be hosted by the Office of the Governor and the Governor's Office of Student Achievement (GOSA), with sponsorship from the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), Bland Farms, Emerald Carpets, Wayne-Sanderson Farms, the Georgia Poultry Association, and Jaemor Farms. Entrance to the pavilion is free, but advance registration is recommended for the Great American State Fair.

Visitors can expect a variety of activities and displays at the pavilion, which will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Gov. Kemp encourages people from around the world to come experience Georgia's showcase at this historic event and keep the state in mind for future visits.
