Governor Abbott Announces Axiom Space Redomiciles In Texas
TelAve News/10899445
~ In a move that solidifies Texas as a leader in the space industry, Governor Greg Abbott announced today that Axiom Space has officially made Texas its legal headquarters. The decision was made after a meeting between Governor Abbott and Axiom Space leadership, where the governor highlighted Texas' strong presence in the space sector.
"Texas has been the launchpad of spaceflight since its inception," said Governor Abbott. "We welcome Axiom Space's decision to make Texas its legal residence and look forward to the progress they will achieve in our state. Those who reach for the stars do so from the great state of Texas."
The meeting also emphasized Texas' position as a national leader in space sector employment, with over 150,000 aerospace workers calling the state home. The Johnson Space Center, operated by NASA, alone generates an impressive $9.8 billion in annual economic output.
Dr. Jonathan Cirtain, CEO and President of Axiom Space, expressed his excitement about the move to Texas. "Texas has demonstrated, consistently and deliberately, that it wants innovative companies to thrive here, and has built the policy and regulatory framework to back that up," he said. "For Axiom Space, establishing Texas as both our operational and legal home puts us squarely in a state that understands our mission, supports our industry, and shares in what we are working to achieve."

Axiom Space is headquartered in Houston and is a leader in commercial human space exploration. The company has already flown 14 astronauts from 11 different nations on four private missions to the International Space Station (ISS). These missions have resulted in over 160 experiments being conducted and dozens of on-orbit outreach events.
Axiom Station, which will be the commercial successor to the ISS, will provide a permanent platform for countries to participate in research, test technologies, and develop capabilities using microgravity.
Governor Abbott's meeting with Axiom Space leadership marks a significant step forward for the space industry in Texas. As the state continues to support and attract innovative companies like Axiom Space, it solidifies its position as a leader in the space sector. Additional photos of the meeting will be made available to the public.
