HighStream Fiber Continues to Grow and Satisfy Customers with netElastic CGNAT

Rural Broadband Provider Chooses netElastic's Disaggregated CGNAT Solution as Alternative to Legacy, Proprietary Products
SANTA CLARA, Calif. - TelAve -- netElastic, an innovative software company providing high-performance routing solutions, today announced that HighStream Fiber, an internet provider serving residential and multi-dwelling unit (MDU) customers on the Alabama Gulf Coast, selected netElastic CGNAT to conserve their IPv4 addresses and enable their growth.
HighStream Fiber has steadily expanded by delivering innovative fiber broadband and outstanding customer service in their local communities. This growth led to a need for a CGNAT solution to help extend their IPv4 addresses. After evaluating solutions from well-known large router manufacturers, which were proprietary and costly, HighStream Fiber chose netElastic CGNAT.

President of HighStream Fiber Russ Reynolds said, "As a new ISP, many folks in the industry think starting and maintaining an ISP requires high-end equipment, certified staff, and buckets of money. In reality, it doesn't. Solutions such as netElastic CGNAT provide a simple solution to get up and running as an ISP with a few initial configurations, and that's it."
Dane Miller, a network engineer at HighStream, implemented CGNAT. Dane stated, "By incorporating netElastic into your network to run CGNAT, you can efficiently place thousands of customers behind a small pool of addresses instead of assigning each one a public IP address. netElastic can log NAT translations to the underlying Linux or a log server for easy auditing. Purchasing a router with CGN capabilities from a major vendor or opting for another CGN appliance vendor may cost up to 10 times more."
"I also liked that netElastic CGNAT is a cutting-edge solution," added HighStream's Russ Reynolds, referring to the trend of disaggregated networking solutions. "It's not your regular proprietary router in a box with Cisco or Juniper. We're using virtual router software with Dell servers. Why not be on the cutting edge with much lower costs?"

netElastic CGNAT was developed as an alternative to legacy, expensive CGNAT products. netElastic focuses on fixed broadband only, enabling netElastic CGNAT to achieve 3-4 times more bandwidth performance than similarly priced legacy solutions. While traditional CGNAT solutions run on expensive proprietary hardware, netElastic CGNAT runs on commodity, x86 servers.
"HighStream Fiber is at the forefront of closing the digital divide on the Alabama Gulf Coast, and netElastic is pleased to help HighStream bring innovative fiber broadband to more subscribers there," said Tom Mitchell, VP of Strategy and Business Development at netElastic. "By avoiding proprietary solutions and not having to purchase additional IPv4 addresses, HighStream has used the savings to reinvest in their business and provide an even greater customer experience."
