Idaho Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting takes place Dec. 3

Boise, Idaho ~ Boise, Idaho - The holiday season is upon us and Governor Brad Little and First Lady Teresa Little are inviting all Idahoans to join them in celebrating at the Idaho Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting on Wednesday, December 3. This free event will kick off at 5:30 p.m. and promises to be a festive evening filled with entertainment and remarks from the Governor and First Lady. The official tree lighting will take place at approximately 6:30 p.m.
As guests arrive at the Capitol, they will be greeted with holiday music starting at 5:30 p.m. Complimentary cookies, hot cocoa, and coffee will also be available while supplies last. Attendees can also look forward to meeting Santa Claus and his elf who will be handing out candy canes and bookmarks, as well as posing for photos.
The highlight of the evening will be the tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m., which will feature Governor Little, First Lady Teresa Little, and Idaho's constitutional officers. The Andrus Ambassadors Honor Choir from Meridian's Cecil D. Andrus Elementary School and students from Meridian's Idaho Fine Arts Academy's vocal major program will provide musical accompaniment.

After the tree lighting, guests are invited to explore the Capitol until the festivities come to an end at 7:30 p.m. They are also encouraged to visit the Governor's Ceremonial Office and the Capitol Gift Shop where they can purchase Idaho's 2025 State Christmas ornament and other items crafted by local artists.
