Idaho Falls: Contractor Work to Impact Traffic on Hitt Road Beginning June 4
TelAve News/10897759
~ Idaho Falls residents can expect some traffic disruptions on Hitt Road starting June 4th, as Knife River begins utility installation and roadway improvements for the new Riviera Park development. The project, located on the northeast corner of Hitt Road and Lincoln Road, will involve the installation of underground utilities and upgrades to support the development.
According to James Hammer, a representative from Knife River, the construction is expected to last until the end of August, depending on weather and field conditions. During this time, the right northbound lane on Hitt Road will be closed from the Lincoln Road roundabout to the Grand Peaks Medical area. However, all lanes entering and within the roundabout will remain open.

Motorists traveling northbound from the roundabout should be prepared to merge into a single lane shortly after exiting the intersection. The city advises drivers to watch for crews and equipment, obey all posted traffic control signs, and reduce speeds in the work zone for their safety as well as that of workers.
It is important to note that this project is not being undertaken by the City of Idaho Falls. However, they are assisting in sharing this information with the public in order to notify them of any potential traffic impacts. For more information about the project, residents can contact James Hammer at 208-220-0659.
The city urges drivers to plan their routes accordingly and allow for extra travel time during this construction period. They also thank residents for their patience and cooperation as these necessary improvements are made for future development in Idaho Falls.
