The Idaho Falls Police Department is on the lookout for new police officers to join their ranks. Applications opened on March 2nd and the first step in the hiring process, a testing date, has been set for April 25th.
According to Idaho Falls Police Chief Bryce Johnson, being a police officer offers individuals the opportunity to make a positive impact in people's lives and in the community. He also added that officers at IFPD have a fulfilling career while serving in an exceptional community.
The written and physical fitness tests will take place on April 25th at the Idaho Falls Police Complex. This is the initial stage of the hiring process where candidates will undergo a written exam to assess their skills, abilities, and behavioral characteristics necessary for a successful career as a police officer. In the afternoon, candidates will participate in a physical fitness test which includes various exercises such as sprinting, jumping, push-ups, sit-ups, and running. Interested candidates can register for the tests on PublicSafetyTesting.com and must also submit an application on the City of Idaho Falls website.
