Oberbrunner says the rise of generative AI has created a new urgency for creators to document ownership before publishing, promoting, or sharing their work online. Oberbrunner's passion is personal. He says several of his own books were included in AI-related copyright disputes, and his TEDx talk was later reproduced online in a way that appeared to be generated from AI-scraped content. The experience convinced him that creators need a faster, easier, and more affordable way to protect their work.
