Juneau: With Repairs Complete, Kaxdigoowu Heen Dei (Brotherhood Bridge Trail) and Dimond Park Footbridge Reopened
TelAve News/10908623
~ Kaxdigoowu Heen Dei, also known as Brotherhood Bridge Trail, and the Dimond Park Footbridge reopened to the public Oct. 8 after repairs, the City and Borough of Juneau said.
The trail was temporarily closed in September to allow construction crews and trucks access to the bridge. The borough said erosion beneath the bridge approach during the 2026 glacial lake outburst flood had made the structure unsafe for public use.

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities inspected the bridge on Oct. 2 and approved it, according to the borough. Parks and Recreation staff then smoothed the walking surface and installed temporary fencing around the approach before reopening.
For information, contact the borough's Parks and Recreation Department at 907-586-5226.
