DENVER ~ As the month of August approaches, Governor Polis is encouraging all Coloradans to come together and celebrate everything that makes their state special. The statewide initiative, known as Celebrate Colorado, offers free and discounted activities for residents to enjoy throughout the entire month.

In honor of Colorado's 150th birthday, the Governor's Office has partnered with the America 250 - Colorado 150 Commission to double the exposure of organizations and events this year. This means even more opportunities for Coloradans to participate in the festivities and showcase their love for their state.

Governor Polis expressed his excitement for Celebrate Colorado, stating that there is no better way to celebrate than by enjoying festivals, arts, cuisine, and more with fellow Coloradans. He also encouraged those hosting events to register them and engage their communities in this shared celebration.

To register an event or offer a special discount or free community event specifically for Celebrate Colorado, individuals can fill out an event submission form. This annual celebration is a chance for Coloradans to come together and showcase all that their state has to offer.

Already, some exciting events have been registered for Celebrate Colorado. In Alamosa, Main Street will transform into a life-sized game board for "First Fridays: An Old West Murder Mystery." Participants can join in on an immersive experience blending literacy, interactive theater, and downtown exploration as they work together to solve a crime.

In Crested Butte, the annual Arts Festival provides a platform for local artists to share their work and connect with the broader community. This event enriches cultural life in the rural setting of Crested Butte.

For sports fans, there will be a special Buy One Get One ticket offer for the Colorado Rapids Soccer Match on August 1st in Commerce City. The match will be followed by an exciting postgame fireworks show as part of Celebrate Colorado Night.

In Golden, State 38 Distilling will be celebrating the release of their 6th Annual Colorado Day Whiskey. This limited-edition Bourbon Whiskey is finished in a Cherry Vanilla barrel and will be accompanied by handcrafted cocktails, delicious food, music, and shopping from local favorites.
