LocalsVoted Launches: Local Rankings From Phone-Verified Votes, Not Paid Placement
TelAve News/10909898
Every vote is phone-verified, and no business can pay to rank higher.
EVERETT, Wash. - TelAve -- Locals Voted LLC today announced the launch of LocalsVoted (https://localsvoted.com), a website where people vote for the best of their city in any category, from "Best Chole Bhature" to "Best Custom Cakes." Rankings come only from phone-verified votes, and no business can pay to rank higher.
A craving that started it all
Founder Dishika Singh was looking for Delhi-style chole bhature in Greater Seattle, but "best Indian restaurant" lists rank whole restaurants, not the dish she wanted.
"I didn't want 'Best Indian Restaurant.' I wanted 'Best Chole Bhature,' and I wanted my friends to tell me, not an ad," said Singh. "My husband told me I could build it by talking to Claude, the AI assistant. I had a working version in about a day."

How LocalsVoted works
Each board is one question for one place, such as "Best Donuts in Seattle."
- Rank comes only from votes. No star ratings, reviews or editors.
- Voters sign in with a US mobile number, so each vote is one verified person.
- One vote per board per month.
- Each board shows its top ten, with monthly and yearly winners.
- Anyone can start a board for $1 or add a place for free. Submissions are reviewed before going live.
Fair by design
Businesses can claim their page and buy extras such as photos, but nothing they buy affects rank. "Most 'best of' lists are paid placements or review pages anyone can game," said Singh. "Here, the only way to rank higher is to be voted for."
For creators and local businesses
Locals Voted LLC is offering free board coupons to local creators and business owners who want to start a board for their niche and share it with followers.
Built to be affordable
LocalsVoted runs on Microsoft Azure using free credits from Microsoft for Startups. "Thank you to Microsoft for making this affordable to try," said Singh.
What's next
The company plans to open boards in more cities and categories as locals ask for them. Start one at localsvoted.com.
