Long Beach Airport Celebrates Southwest Airlines' New Nonstop Daily Flights to Seattle, Portland

Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach Airport (LGB) has recently announced the addition of new daily nonstop flights to and from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Portland International Airport (PDX), courtesy of Southwest Airlines. This expansion offers travelers more options to conveniently connect along the West Coast, strengthening LGB's growing network which currently serves 21 nonstop destinations and nearly 400 one-stop connections worldwide.
Mayor Rex Richardson expressed his excitement for the new routes, stating, "We're excited to welcome these new Southwest flights to Seattle and Portland, offering travelers even more reasons to choose Long Beach as their airport of choice. By strengthening our already growing network of routes, we are further positioning ourselves to welcome the world in 2028."
The daily service schedule for Southwest's flights between LGB and the Pacific Northwest is as follows: LGB to SEA departs at 11:25 a.m. and arrives at 2:05 p.m., while SEA to LGB departs at noon and arrives at 2:55 p.m. Additionally, LGB to PDX departs at 1 p.m. and arrives at 3:20 p.m., with PDX to LGB departing at noon and arriving at 2:25 p.m. Tickets for these flights are now available on lgb.org.

To celebrate the first day of service, passengers on both outbound and inbound flights were treated to surprise gate celebrations including live music as part of LGB's ongoing LGB Live! series, free coffee from Boathouse on the Bay and 4th Street Vine restaurants, as well as giveaways of commemorative stickers and airport-themed items. In addition, Aquarium of the Pacific generously donated free tickets for inbound passengers to enjoy during their stay in Long Beach.
Airport Director Cynthia Guidry also expressed her enthusiasm for the new routes, stating "We're excited to see even more opportunities for travelers to fly between Long Beach and the Pacific Northwest. These new nonstop flights to Seattle and Portland provide residents and visitors with more ways to explore the West Coast, while enjoying the easy, welcoming experience that has made LGB a favorite among travelers."
The Pacific Northwest will become even more accessible this fall when Alaska Airlines adds twice-daily nonstop service to Seattle beginning September 8, 2026. Together with Southwest's expanded service, this will provide travelers with additional flexibility and convenient travel options.
