Evansville, Ind. ~ Evansville, Ind. - Mayor Stephanie Terry has announced a new partnership between the City of Evansville, the Evansville Fire Department, and Deaconess Health System to support the city's recently launched fire-based Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system. This strategic, multi-year partnership aims to strengthen and integrate the city's emergency response infrastructure for the benefit of its residents.

The partnership will focus on several key elements, including providing training support for firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs. This will ensure that first responders are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to handle emergency situations effectively. Additionally, clinical protocols will be integrated to improve coordination between EMS and hospital-based care. Technology investments will also be made to enhance responder safety and patient outcomes.

One of the first initiatives under this partnership is the accelerated rollout of a station alerting system. This system will route emergency calls directly to the responding station, reducing unnecessary sleep disruptions for first responders. This advancement not only supports their wellness but also ensures long-term readiness.
