PRESCOTT, Ariz. - TelAve -- Prescott Children's Author Michael Eastwood Celebrates Eight Books and More Than 5,000 Free Books Donated to Young Readers
PRESCOTT, ARIZONA, October 30, 2026 – What happens when a cowboy rescues a miniature pony named Winston? A little horse with a big personality becomes the star of a children's book series, and thousands of children discover the joy of reading.
Michael "Cowboy Mike" Eastwood, a Prescott businessman, children's book author, and founder of Pony 4 Precious, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is celebrating a milestone: eight published books in the Cowboy Mike and Winston series and more than 5,000 free books donated to children.
The mission is simple and heartfelt: "Changing One Child's Life, One Book at a Time."
From Rescue Pony to Storybook Star
The series began with Winston, a rescued miniature pony living at Blue Mountain Ranch in Prescott. His spirited personality quickly won over everyone who met him, and he now leads young readers through fun adventures, colorful illustrations, and meaningful life lessons.

In the books, Cowboy Mike and Winston explore the ranch and the town of Prescott, learn about the importance of clean water, and even visit the baseball field. Friendship, kindness, responsibility, teamwork, and laughter shine through on every page.
Books in Every Child's Hands
Eastwood has donated more than 5,000 free children's books to children, teachers, schools, nonprofit charities, and community events.
"Every child deserves the opportunity to own a book, turn the pages, laugh at a story, and learn something new," said Eastwood. "When I see a child's face light up after receiving a book, I know we're making a difference. That's why Winston and I do what we do!"
Every Sale Gives Back
One hundred percent of proceeds from Cowboy Mike and Winston book sales are donated to Pony 4 Precious, supporting children's literacy, educational programs, scholarships, and the organization's charitable mission.
Looking Ahead
With eight books published, thousands donated, and one unforgettable miniature pony leading the way, Cowboy Mike has no plans to slow down.
