TelAve News/10862373
MYSTIC, Conn. - TelAve -- The Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center (DPNC) is excited to announce the return of Mr. Bill's Woodland Ramble, a 5k walk/run through the scenic trails of the Nature Center, taking place on Saturday, May 31.

Check-in begins at 9 a.m., and the Ramble kicks off at 9:30 a.m. Following the Ramble, there will be appearances by DPNC's Animal Ambassadors: rehabilitated animals, including birds of prey, that help educate the public about wildlife. The event is leashed dog-friendly and perfect for families. The Ramble takes place along natural trails, rough terrain, and bridged water crossings.

Participants can sign up as individuals or form teams with friends. Teams are encouraged to raise funds through pledges, helping support DPNC's work in the community. Funds support wildlife rehabilitation, environmental education programs, feeding the food-insecure through the Giving Garden, and more.

We are deeply grateful to our generous sponsors who help make this event possible: ASA Environmental Products, Grampy's Charities, Aquarion Water Company, Kelley's Pace, Dog Watch Restaurants, Harbor Heights Apartments, Stonington Veterinary Hospital, 85th Day Food Community, A Greener Perspective Landscaping, Advantage Personal Training, Antonio Hair Design, Mystic Aquarium, Waller, Smith & Palmer, Bravo Bravo, Cannonball Management, Dime Bank, Elm Grove Cemetery, Go Fish, Mallove's Jewelry, Masonicare at Mystic, N.L. Shaw & Company, Red 36, Rob Rivers Salon & Spa, Vail & Robson Dentistry.

About the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center:

DPNC has been fostering an appreciation for nature and encouraging environmental stewardship for decades. Through diverse public and private programs and preserved lands, the Center offers the community a place to experience nature's wonders firsthand. Visitors can explore more than 10 miles of diverse trails, walk among 17th century stone walls, woodlands, wetlands, and meadows, and enjoy views across the Mystic River and beyond. At DPNC's main facility, guests can discover nature by meeting rehabilitated wildlife and exploring natural history exhibits. The establishment of Coogan Farm in 2014 has added additional layers of education, history, and a Giving Garden that donates thousands of pounds of nutrient-rich produce to the food insecure of New London County each year.
