The driver ~ Naperville Police Arrest Man After High-Speed Chase and Drug Bust
On Wednesday, July 22, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Naperville Police conducted a routine traffic stop on a blue Kia sedan on the 0-100 block of Whispering Hills Drive. According to reports, the officer who initiated the stop noticed a strong smell of cannabis and saw evidence of drug use in the vehicle. The driver, later identified as Jahron J. Faulkner, 24, of Wheaton, allegedly refused to exit the car and fled the scene at a high rate of speed through a residential area.
The officer pursued Faulkner on foot and eventually caught up with him between two apartment buildings on the 100 block of South Whispering Hills Drive. Faulkner was arrested without further incident.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a significant amount of suspected methamphetamine, psilocybin (mushrooms), traces of cannabis, a large sum of cash, and more than a dozen cell phones. As a result, Faulkner is facing multiple charges including possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine (more than 15 but less than 100 grams), possession of methamphetamine (more than 15 but less than 100 grams), aggravated fleeing and eluding, possession of a controlled substance, obstruction, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver, and improper window tinting.

Police Chief Jason Arres commended the proactive work of his officers in apprehending Faulkner and removing dangerous drugs from the streets. "Fleeing from police at high speeds through residential neighborhoods puts innocent people at risk," said Arres. "We will not tolerate this kind of behavior in our community."
Arres also thanked the team that supported the investigation and reminded both the public and news media that Faulkner is innocent until proven guilty.
This incident serves as another example of Naperville Police's commitment to keeping the community safe and cracking down on criminal activity. "If you come to Naperville and engage in illegal behavior, our officers will work aggressively to identify you, arrest you, and hold you accountable," stated Arres.
Faulkner is currently being held in custody and is awaiting trial. The Naperville Police urge anyone with information related to this case or any other criminal activity to contact them immediately.
