New Mexico Startup Launches Favor, a Bible Study App Free for People in Prison and Retirement Homes
TelAve News/10910141
Favor explains every chapter as you read, with the original Hebrew and Greek, the details most readers miss, and a built-in way for small groups to study together.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - TelAve -- Favor, a new Bible study app from a New Mexico startup, launched this month at favorbiblestudy.com. It explains each chapter as people read it, and the company is offering it free to residents of retirement homes and to people who are incarcerated.
Most people who open a Bible on their own get lost within a few chapters. The names, places and customs are unfamiliar, and the connections between books are easy to miss. Favor is built to close that gap.
As a reader moves through a chapter, Favor explains it in plain language. It shows the Hebrew and Greek behind key words, points out details most readers pass over, and traces how the Old Testament connects to Jesus in the New. Every few verses, a short question asks the reader to stop and think, and their answers save to their own notes.
Favor is also built for small groups. Members read the same chapter during the week, and their answers to discussion questions stay sealed until the group leader opens the discussion. Members can invite a friend with a link or code.

"A lot of people want to understand the Bible, and they quit because no one is there to explain it as they read," said Josh Little, founder and CEO of Favor. "We built Favor to be that guide, whether you're reading alone at the kitchen table or leading a group at church."
Free for retirement homes and people in prison
Favor is free for residents of retirement homes and senior living communities, and for people in prison or jail. Activity directors, chaplains and family members can set it up by emailing info@favorbiblestudy.com.
"Some of the people who most want to study Scripture are the ones with the fewest resources to do it," Little said. "We don't want cost to be the reason anyone can't."
Availability
Favor works in a web browser on any phone, tablet or computer. The study begins with Genesis, and more books are being added. New users get their first week free at https://favorbiblestudy.com
