New Rochelle: City Manager Finalist Community Meet and Greet- Oct. 28

~ New Rochelle City Council to Host Community Meet and Greet for Finalists of City Manager Position
The New Rochelle City Council is inviting members of the public to meet the three finalists for the position of City Manager at a Community Meet and Greet event on Monday, October 28. The event will take place from 6-8PM at New Rochelle City Hall, located at 515 North Avenue.
During the event, the three finalists will introduce themselves and answer a series of pre-determined questions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to provide feedback via electronic means, which will be taken into consideration by the City Council.
The search for a new City Manager has been ongoing for several months, with the goal of selecting a qualified candidate to lead the city's administrative operations. The finalists were chosen after a nationwide search that initially produced nearly 40 candidates from 12 different states. The selection process has been coordinated by Clay Pearson, Sr. Vice President with Strategic Government Resources.
The three finalists are Michael Ciaravino, Jason Freeman, and Will Melendez. Ciaravino is currently a self-employed attorney and has previously served as City Manager in Mill Creek, Washington and Newburgh, New York. He holds a J.D. from Case Western University and a B.A. from John Carroll University.

Freeman currently serves as the Business Administrator for the City of Hoboken, NJ and has experience working with non-profit organizations such as the Anti-Defamation League. He studied Political Science at Pennsylvania State University and holds a Certificate in Organizational Leadership from Harvard University Business School.
Melendez is currently serving as Commissioner of Public Works for the City of New Rochelle and Acting City Manager. He previously worked for the New York Department of Environmental Protection as Deputy Director in the Bureau of Water Supply - Water Treatment Operations South. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in New York and holds a Bachelor's degree from Manhattan College.
The Community Meet and Greet event will be broadcasted live on NRTV channels Optimum 75 and Verizon 28, as well as on the City's website.
According to the City Charter, the City Manager serves as the Chief Executive Officer for New Rochelle and is responsible for all activities and operations of the City Government based on policies and priorities set by the Mayor and City Council. The new City Manager will report directly to the City Council.
This event provides an opportunity for members of the public to meet and learn more about the finalists for this important position in New Rochelle's government. The City Council encourages all interested individuals to attend and participate in this process.
